Last night we were fortunate enough to see among the ‘famous and fabulous’ at one of the best Allstar weekend affairs, Shaq’s party, the great lead singer of the Texas formed band, ZZ Top(I Gosta Get Paid, La Futura). Billy Gibbons was leaving the VIP section…..but he got swallowed up by the crowd before we could catch up with him. As fate would have it, we still got a chance to find out what the Texas guitarist has been up to lately.

Today, Jeremy Meador, (pictured above with Billy Gibbons) and I were outside of CVS on Gesnner & I10 West during a ‘meet up’ with someone from another media outlet. I’d just told them about the missed opportunity when this small blue hybrid pulled up and parked right next to us. Gibbons jumped out with the speed and agility of a young dude, grabbed a smart and practically jogged inside.

When he re-surfaced, we approached the legend who was quite agreeable not only taking pictures, but also with chatting with us. This dude was so cool, laid back. He kept inviting the person in the second car to get out and get in the pic..but three pics later she was still saying.. (You know women) My hair, my lipstick….But, she wanted a hug, not a picture. She finally relented and joined in for the last pic, above. She did get her chuckles and grins in as a long time fan of Mr. Billy Gibbons! Again, can’t tell you enough about how awesome he is. After-all, he was not only at Shaq’s party, but the 60 plus rocker was up dancing with random people.

ZZ Top has been topping charts spanning some forty plus years and has already left an indelible mark on the music landscape. Their most recent project is La Futura. You can visit them at their official website and check out their upcoming tour.

Billy Gibbons ZZ Top: (Laughs). Ah, that was a nice party. That Shaq he is huge. I mean he’s way up there. I had a good time last night. Been a fan for a long time.
