FROM THE EDITOR: My Star, My Whitney Houston – Gone Too Soon!

Words cannot express the heaviness I feel about the loss of my favorite singer – Whitney Houston.  I have always prayed and lifted up my girlfriend Whitney.  My regret is to never have the opportunity to interview the Greatest Vocals of All Times.  As I recall, her first album “Whitney Houston” may have been the very first album I actually paid for with my very own money.  I thought, here is someone in my era I can relate to, who inspires my generation of young female singers.   Amazing it was!

Approximately 8:09 pm EST, Saturday February 11, 2012, I was sitting in Barnes & Nobles with some client friends discussing business when my oldest son calls.  I pass the phone to my youngest son to answer. The playful tone asking his brother “What do you want” suddenly turn to a look that frightened me to learn what he was hearing.  All he kept saying was “You’re Lying Right? Are You Joking?.”  I asked if it was something bad and he nodded, Yes. Being a young artist himself, he became speechless and dismayed all of a sudden. He did not want to reveal what he just heard, but I needed to know. When the words, “Whitney Houston died” rolled off of his tongue, I almost lost it. I didn’t want to believe it, so I asked others at the book store had they heard, and several people acknowledged that the news was true.

I am such a fan who believed in Whitney’s comeback that I would not allow anyone in my presence to talk bad about her. I just cannot report on all the rumors and allegations surrounding her demise – it’s too painful. Therefore, I’ve decided to just do a photo gallery and a personal tribute to Whitney and how she inspired me personally.

Whitney inspired me to sing and to have a good spirit no matter what I’m going through. What I loved the most about Whitney was her huge heart, her love for people and her magnetic smile that lit up a room. She was an amazing soul whose demons only manifested through media and tabloids who enjoy only the negative things in one’s life. Through it all she maintained grace and honesty when she spoke about herself, always true to who she was. She was absolutely special in her whole being, born to touch lives in life and in death. Of all the awards she earned, none will measure up to the crown God gave her when she entered the pearly gates.

Whitney, the world is a better place because you were here, and heaven got brighter when you arrived on the scene – You, Michael and all the others-sing to the Glory of God!

Our sympathy and prayers go out to the Houston-Brown Family, we are deeply sorry Mrs. Cissy and Bobbi Kristina.

I loved Whitney and she was a most talent person, but I also love her and Bobby Brown together. It seems to me, with all her problems before she married him and after, she would still be alive if she had remained married to him. At least he looked after her, kept her alive. Just a tought from a very old fan.
